Yoga Teacher Training Program
Program Description
The 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) Program is a comprehensive study of the teachings of Yoga and is ideal for the aspiring Yoga student who wishes to deepen their practice and become a Yoga Teacher. The YTT sets a solid foundation for a lifetime Yoga practice while broadening your understanding of Yoga as an ancient system for improving the overall quality of life. An introduction and exploration of Patanjali's Eight Limb Raja Yoga System will be presented, discussed and parlayed into a yoga practice on and off the mat. Emphasis will be placed on learning and applying the Yamas and Niyamas (foundational principles of Yoga) and improving alignment in asana (posture) practice.
Participants will learn a variety of modifications in numerous poses and how to best utilize yoga props. The in-depth study of pranayama, asana and the psychology of Yoga will lead to the more advanced practices of pratyhara (sense withdrawal), dharana (concentration), and dhyana (meditation). A variety of meditation methods will be introduced including the use of Sanskrit mantras, mandalas, and hand mudras. This training also includes presentation of the energetic systems (Chakras and Nadis) of the body, as well as, an introduction to Ayurveda and nutrition from the yogic perspective. Topics in all aspects of teaching are presented, discussed and applied.
