5-day Yoga Immersion: The Essence of Yoga

~ Introduction to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
~ Optimal Breathing and Relaxation
~ Personal practice on and off the mat
~ Nutrition and lifestyle
~ Exploration of energetic body anatomy
~ Introduction to alignment principles in Asana
Special Note: The 5-day Immersion must be taken first before any of the other modules.
Module #2
Asana Alignment and Anatomy, Part I
Instructors: Justine Shelton and Danielle Osicki
Topics to be covered:
~ Principles of alignment in asana
~ Modifications in numerous poses and how to best utilize yoga props
~ Anatomy & physiology will be presented in detail
~ Introduction to the therapeutic applications of asana
~ PreNatal Yoga
~ Hand Mudras
Module #3
Asana Alignment and Anatomy, Part II
Instructors: Justine Shelton, Danielle Osicki and Sherry Zak Morris
Topics to be covered:
~ Principles of alignment in asana
~ Modifications in numerous poses and how to best utilize yoga props
~ Anatomy & physiology will be presented in detail
~ Introduction to the therapeutic applications of asana
~ Gentle, chair & senior Yoga
Module #4
Meditation: Mindfulness, Movement & Stillness
Instructors: Danielle Osicki, Tom Kelly and Roland Mathews

~ Techniques and practice of meditation
~ Mantra and sound
~ Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
~ Restorative Yoga
~ Yin Yoga
Module #5
Yoga Lifestyle and Philosophy
Instructors: Danielle Osicki and Evelyn Wittman

~ Bringing Yoga to daily life
~ Lifestyle choices and ethics
~ Introduction to Ayurveda
~ Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
~ Restorative Yoga
~ Kids Yoga
~ Karma Yoga
Module #6
Becoming a Teacher
Instructors: Danielle Osicki and Justine Shelton
Topics to be covered:
~ Creating a safe learning environment
~ Yogic communication
~ Designing a class and sequencing and pacing
~ Assisting and adjusting students
~ Business of Yoga and marketing
~ Getting started teaching
~ Practice teaching
~ Giving and receiving feedback
Special Note: Prerequisite for Module #6 is completion of a minimum of 3 other modules.
Module #7
Apprenticeship
This module includes observation and assisting in a minimum of 20 classes taught by a Mentor Teacher. Prior to observing and assisting in class, trainee selects their Mentor Teacher then dates and times are scheduled and agreed upon by you and your Mentor Teacher. The culmination of the apprenticeship module is teaching a class and receiving feedback from your Mentor Teacher.
